For quite a while now I’ve been compiling interesting videos on YouTube, separating them into separate playlists dedicated to various categories relevant to the campaign. I’ll be posting these playlists to the video directory of this site soon, but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek now by offering you a new playlist – a selection of the best of the best! For the discerning voter, I’ve pulled together the videos I think are most important into one easy-to-watch must see list. Watch these and you’ll be well on your way to understanding several major issues of Obama’s campaign.
As always, don’t believe me flat out, but here’s some food for thought and fuel to get your research started!

The Must See Videos

1 - Obama On Military Under-Funding
Obama on ceasing development of “future combat systems”, which reduce the number of troops on the ground, as well as improves accuracy in targeting terrorists without harming innocent civilians.

2 – The Economic Crisis
The current housing and economic crisis is looming large on the minds of every voter. Nancy Pelosi has already thrown down the gauntlet on the floor of the senate, pointing the finger at all but her own party. I find that a little naive and disturbing, and catastrophies like this are large and complex. Such complex creatures take a great deal of egging on, from each side. I firmly believe both sides deserve shares of the blame. But in response to Ms. Pelosi, I prevent this C-Span video from 2004. It’s a hearing about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with Democrats fighting attempts by Republicans to increase oversight in order to prevent catastrophic economic crisis. Bear in mind the Democrats, refusing to admit that an economic crisis was on the horizon. How did they come to that conclusion? Thanks to the testimony of Franklin Raines, then CEO of Fannie Mae. Of course, we know now in hindsight that at the same time, he was cooking the books at Fannie Mae, funnelling millions of dollars into his own pockets. A great deal of that money then went into the pockets of many major Democratic Senators, as will be illustrated in the next video. It was because of Franklin Raines’ testimonies that these Republican bills for oversight were stopped dead in Democrat-controlled committees.
I’m not saying the Republicans are blameless – far from it. But I’m sorry to say that Ms. Pelosi is far from the truth, and I’d venture a guess that she knows better. After all, if President Clinton will admit his own party was involved in creating this crisis, couldn’t other Democrats admit it as well?

3 - Fannie & Freddie’s Campaign Contributions
Following the Money – Campaign donations from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac
Here we follow the money from Fannie and Freddie straight into the pockets of Democratic Senators. Be sure to notice the staggering amounts of money heading into the pockets of Barack Obama, yet that money was heading there in a shorter period of time. He amassed more money in less time than any other Senator. That’s quite an accomplishment.

4-7 – Primary Voter Fraud
Part OnePart TwoPart ThreePart Four
This is an absolute must-see. Not a lot of people understand exactly why so many of Hillary Clinton’s supporters have refused her call to party unity, instead splitting off into what they refer to as “PUMA” – or in other words, “Party Unity My Ass”. This video might explain a large part of their frustration, as you see just a small glimpse of the wide-spread voter fraud that took place during the Democratic primaries. After you’ve seen this video, if you’d like to learn more, just google “ACORN” and learn about another corrupt agency that Obama worked for as a “community organizer.” ACORN is, of course, the infamous agency in Illinois who has been convicted of fraud and so many other charming things. The average person, however, tends to remember them as the pioneers of Chicago Machine Politic’s policy of kindly allowing dead people to vote, just so long as they vote for the candidate chosen by the bigwigs at the DNC.

8 - Weather Underground
A short synopsis of Obama’s connections to William Ayers, one of the infamous leaders of the Weather Underground, a domestic terrorism group that violently attacked civilians throughout the 1970s, killing numerous civilians, police officers, and civil servants. Ayers was personally responsible for planning and carrying out attempted and successful bombings. On September 11, 2001, Ayers stated, “I don’t regret setting bombs.” He continued, regarding his fellow ‘Weathermen’, “I feel we didn’t do enough.” See the next video for more information.

9 - Weather Underground
Obama discusses what he refers to as his experience as a “community organizer”. He finally admits that the group he worked for was founded by William Ayers. Not only that, but the organization was created specifically for Obama by Ayers himself. Obama’s experience as a “community organizer” was facilitated and directed by an admitted and unrepentent domestic terrorist, personally responsible for the violent deaths of innocent civilians and police officers.

10 - The Reverend Jeremiah Wright
For over 20 years, Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and their two children attended the Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago, directed by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. This is a short introduction to the statements and theology of Reverend Wright. The Obama campaign has tried to downplay the associations between Reverend Wright and Obama, even daring to call any attention paid to this connection as nothing more than a “distraction.” Personally, I find it concerning when any politician has over a 20 year history of closely associating with someone who is known as a racist, someone who is considered one of the fathers of Black Liberation Theology, a belief that African Americans are the chosen people of God, and are the only true righteous believers in Christianity. Therefore, they have the power of God’s will over all other Christians. They support religious segregation, just tipping the scales of injustice in the opposite direction, despite all the advances made over the past two centuries to bring equality and justice for all races.
This connection is not a distraction. It is vital, and voters deserve to know that Obama refers to Wright as his spiritual adviser. Voters deserve to know that Barack and Michelle Obama were married by Reverend Wright, and that this man baptised their two daughters.

11 - The Best of Jeremiah Wright’s Sermons, part 1
I’m sorry for referencing a video from Fox News, but this seems to be the best, most concise, commentary-free compilation of Wright sermons currently available that I could find. Regardless of the Fox symbol being at the bottom of the video, these are all well documented sermons, consistent with the refrains of Black Liberation Theology.

12 - Best of Wright’s Sermons, part 2
Another collection of hateful, racist remarks from Obama’s “spiritual adviser”.

13 – Reverend Wright on Hillary Clinton
Reverend Wright’s excessive diatribe about Hillary Clinton. Interestingly, Reverend Wright mentions Barack Obama directly this time, making several inaccurate statements, including making Obama appear as if he came from a poor, single-parent, disadvantaged childhood. This, of course, ignores the fact that his grandparents raised him in a loving home, sent him to an exclusive private school in Hawaii, and most importantly, that he’s the son of a Harvard graduate who followed in his father’s footsteps and went to Harvard himself. If that’s what it means to be disadvantaged, I’d like to sign up for that, please.

14 - Obama About Wright
Our last video on the subject of Jeremiah Wright contains several clips showing Obama’s rapidly changing positions on his beloved reverend and “spiritual advisor”. Keep in mind, the clips that this video cuts between were from different periods of time, thus chronicling the many changing stories Obama chooses to tell the American voter.

15 - Plagiarism, Part One
So many of Obama’s supporters adore him for his eloquent, inspiring speeches. Many even claim that his speeches mean so much more, because they’re under the impression that Obama writes all of his speeches himself. Here we examine some of his most famous speeches, some of his most iconic sound bytes, which unfortunately raise the question, are these really his own words?

16 - Plagiarism, Part Two
Another example of Obama borrowing the words of another politician, yet again that politician being Deval Patrick, the African American Governor of Massachusetts. He just so happens to be serving as an advisor on Obama’s campaign, yet Obama never bothered to credit Patrick for the use of his speeches, nor thank him for the use of his inspiring words. In fact, Patrick even tried to tell Diane Sawyer in an interview that Obama didn’t borrow any words at all, that this wasn’t a case of plagiarism. That, if anything, the only thing Obama ever borrowed was two words, his now famous call of, “Just words.” Somehow, Patrick doesn’t make me feel much better.

17 - Plagiarism, Part Three
But that hardly matters, as Obama also seems to lift words from fellow Democrats, including those he ran against in the primaries. As this video shows, he didn’t mind borrowing a clever phrase from John Edwards.
If you’d also like to learn about Obama flat out stealing the work of Tom Toles, renowned liberal political cartoonist, check out this post at POW in CA.

18 - Michelle Obama
I’m sure most of you have already seen or heard about this clip, but I just couldn’t create a “Best Of” list without including it. It is, of course, Michelle Obama stating unequivocally that for the first time in her adult life, she’s proud of her country. Why? Because her husband is doing well in the election. She wasn’t proud of her country during the Civil Rights movement. She wasn’t proud of her country when Martin Luther King, Jr proclaimed he had a dream. She wasn’t proud of her country when President Reagan ordered the destruction of the Berlin Wall. She wasn’t proud of her country for the way individual Americans came together to help each other after 9/11. She’s only proud of her country when that country serves her husband’s interests. That, honestly, disturbs me a little, so I just had to include it. It’s not a single reason not to vote for her husband, it’s not a single reason not to support Michelle Obama. But it’s certainly something to think about.

19 - Michelle Obama, A Matter of Race
A lot of this election has a lot to do with race. It really shouldn’t – it shouldn’t matter the color of the candidate’s skin. For a great many voters and fellow politicians, it really doesn’t matter. But it apparently matters a great deal to Michelle Obama, as in this video – my favorite of the many examples of Mrs. Obama pulling the race card – she proclaims that the only reason Hillary Clinton was ahead in the primary at this stage was because the African American population just hadn’t woken up yet.

20 - Biden on Being Bipartisan
Is this your future Vice President? Biden proclaims that the only reason Republicans aren’t so fond of Obama is because he’s simply too smart for them. How delightfully patronizing and insensitive. Small town Americans can’t relate to Obama, not because his positions on issues might differ from their own opinions, no, it’s because he’s so well educated that they just don’t understand him.
And as a little extra surprise, the toy at the bottom of the cereal box of arrogance, the woman who introduces Joe Biden decides to refer to the Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin as a “bucket of fluff.” How bipartisan and respectful.

21 - Biden, VP
Another little Biden Bite is this time directed, well, at himself. This was recorded shortly after he was named Obama’s vice presidential pick, which further infuriated Hillary Clinton’s 18 million supporters when she was snubbed for the spot. To try and smooth things over after the voter fraud and the horrible way in which Hillary was treated, Biden decided to open up and admit that well, Hillary probably would have been a better pick than himself. Yeah, she probably would have, but it’s too late now.

22 - Obama, How to Show Your Support
Lastly, I give you the one statement from the campaign trail that sums up his campaign for me. You have to see it for yourself to believe it. Then after you see it, think about it for a minute.
Think about it. Think about what he just said. “I want you to talk to ‘em whether they’re independent or they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face!”
Get in their face. Not have a civilized, respectful, constructive discussion about important issues. Not have a calm, rational, reasonable exchange of ideas so that we can actually find common ground and work together. No. “Argue with them and get in their face.”
That’s sounds like why I’m here where I am right now. That sounds like why I started this blog anonymously, rather than discussing all this on my normal, well-established, even fairly popular blog. I’m here, hiding my name, because I tried to have that civilized, respectful, constructive discussion with those closest to me, those I care about the most. I wanted to present what I had found in doing my research, and in exchange, I wanted to hear from them why they supported Obama. I wanted to hear about what they saw in him, why they felt so passionately. I wanted to know their opinions, I wanted the chance to discuss these issues, to perhaps come to some common ground on which to stand. But what did I get?
They argued with me and got in my face.
Now I know why they did – because he told them to.
Obama talks a great deal about change. The word is there, right in front of him on the podium. But the only way to effect change in Washington is by reaching out to the other side, by having civilized, respectful, constructive exchanges of ideas and perspectives. It means working together, taking the best ideas from both sides, putting aside differences to find similarities and solutions. As Independents, we should know that it takes the maturity to agree to disagree before any of us will get anywhere. If agreeing to disagree is our goal, if finding solutions through reasonable compromise and cooperation is our destination, we just aren’t going get there by arguing and getting in each other’s faces. That’s not change, that’s not cooperation; that’s intimidation, that’s strong-arming. That’s shouting so loud that you drown out the voice of the other guy until you get what you want. It’s scaring him so badly that he’ll keep quiet and get out of your way. Is that the kind of change we need? Is that good for our country, where each side is already so entrenched in their differences?
We don’t need more arguing, we need cooperation. We need civility. We need maturity. We need someone who knows what it means to be bipartisan, to take the best ideas from both sides, to listen to each perspective, finding the best in each, and using them to reach a solution. In Obama’s own words, he wants to argue and get in the face of the opposition. Is that how anyone effects positive change? Or is that simply how someone steps over others on his way to power?
I’ve already seen that tactic. That’s why I’m writing these words here rather than out in the open, because I got so tired and worn down by the arguing, the name-calling, the personal attacks. I can’t take much more of it, and neither can this country.
