I want to thank my good friend Joey for sending this interesting little tid-bit to me. I’m going to show you two different media articles and I want you to tell me if you detect any media bias whatsoever. You might have to look carefully, you might not recognize it right away, but please, take a look, evaluate this very thoughtfully, and tell me if any sort of hidden agenda jumps out at you, okay?

Exhibit A: CNN’s Political Ticker is a sort of twitter for CNN journalists. I present Bill Schneider’s Political Ticker entry from 8:19PM on March 24, 2009, the night of President Obama’s press conference. It was posted while Bill Schneider was attending the very press conference he’s referring to, so yes, he was in the same exact room.

Exhibit B: An article from Fox News. If you’re skeptical of Fox News, don’t worry, I’m not asking you trust what they wrote. Check it out, it’ll all make sense and you won’t have any doubts, I promise. Just see if what you see there jives with what Mr. Schneider had to say about his own experience at the press conference.

Did you catch the disparity? Click “More” for my conclusions, because I just don’t want to spoil the surprise if you haven’t already figured it out.

HOLY FREAKING CRAP, HOW COULD BILL SCHNEIDER MISS THAT GIANT FREAKING TELEPROMPTER!?!?!

Okay, sorry for that little outburst there… but come on! Was he even at the right Presidential press conference, or did he go to the one down the street by mistake?! That thing is absolutely massive! That’s not even one of those discreet little clear panels on a tiny little pole that someone could maybe mistake as, gee, I dunno, like a podium or something (I mean, not if you were normal, but perhaps if you were completely inept and a total news noob.) No, that’s no tiny little discreet clear panel on a stick, that’s an absolutely ginormous LCD screen! It looks to be at least 37″, if not more! Hell, it could easily be more than that! I just went shopping for an LCD TV, I have one sitting right here across the room from me. Mine is about 32″, and that one is definitely, definitely bigger than mine! (And yes, I am a teensy bit jealous of it. I wonder if they’d let me have it after they’re done… in four freaking years when we have a president who won’t need it anymore! [Hehe, sorry, I just couldn't resist!])

So anyway, my question is, again, how in the hell did Bill Schneider miss that mother of all teleprompters? Did he simply not see it? Could he possibly be that inept of a reporter to not recognize all those huge words scrolling across that mammoth screen, each word mirroring precisely what President Obama was saying? Or if he did see it, could he have possibly thought that hey, maybe they were just being ultra handicap accessible and someone was closed captioning the President’s speech right there in the same room just in case there were any deaf reporters present?

No, the bottom line is, there’s no excuse whatsoever for what Mr. Schneider reported! No excuse – no reasonable explanation – besides outright media bias, abuse of his human responsibility to tell the truth, and a complete violation of journalistic integrity. Shame on you, Mr. Schneider, and shame on CNN for publishing it! I mean, seriously, did they really think no one would get a picture of that huge ass teleprompter? Do they really think the American people are that stupid? For goodness sake, this is getting so blatant it’s ridiculous!

And oh yes, I am keeping an archived copy of that little twittered report, just in case CNN decides to try to erase their shame rather than owning up to their outright bias, lies, and ineptitude. Do you wanna keep a copy too? I’d really encourage you to save a copy, because the more copies we have, the harder it is for them to refute it. Trust me, I’ve done this before and made waves because of it. This little trick works beautifully – just ask the Chinese… ;) Teehee.
So please go to the site again, click on “File”, select “Save Page As”, and save it to your hard drive. If you have web space, please upload it and publish a link to it here in a comment. The more copies we get, the better!
Or, if the entry has disappeared by the time you read this, you can download a zipped copy of my archived file right here. But please, if the original is still available, save your own copy direct from the site itself – an original copy of your own is much better than just a duplicate of my own archive. If you have no other choice and the site has disappeared, then my copy will be adequate.

Good luck hiding your shame now, CNN! Isn’t the Internet a beautiful thing? I swear, it really was a typo in the bible – truly, the geek shall inherit the earth. :)

Oh, come on Meg, give the guy a break. He was just too awestruck by Obama’s magnificent presence to notice the enormous teleprompter.

He couldn’t see the forest for the trees.

You can’t expect a liberal to notice little things like bonus protection clauses in an 1100 page bill, the 9th and 10th Amendment, zero Republican House votes and only 3 Republican Senate votes on the budget he “inherited”, and Obama’s sputtering answers to impromptu questions. There’s no way they would notice that every non-pre-selected questioner at his Orange County Town Hall was a member of a special interest group which just happened to benefit from one of his policies.
