Finally, Confirmation Obama Was Lying Through His Teeth

Well, confirmation about one thing at least.

Surprise, surprise, Obama’s relationship with William Ayers really did extend beyond the way Obama characterized it during the debates, as Ayers simply being “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” None other than Ayers himself has come forward and stated that their relationship was in fact much more. In a new afterword to his 2001 book, which he’s currently hawking all over television, Ayers had this to say about Obama:

“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign.”

emphasis added

“Family friends” is really quite a stretch from “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood”, don’t you think? Let’s add this to the ever growing list of lies from the campaign, shall we? Of course, not like this is a huge surprise to anyone here, but there you go. It’s at least nice to have confirmation, right?

In the same article where I first saw this lovely quote, I also read that Ayers is now claiming that the infamous quote attributed to him – wherein he claims he wished he had done more as part of the Weather Underground – is inaccurate. He claims he never said any such thing… even though he’s said it multiple times. Whoops! Well, I suppose if you clear up one lie, you gotta add another one to the pile, just to make sure your tally stays the same, right?

The bit that bugs me most of all, though, is this statement: “I killed no one, and I harmed no one, and I didn’t regret for a minute resisting the murderous assault on [Vietnam] with every ounce of my being.”
Sorry, Bill, even though you never specifically pulled the trigger yourself, there were still several people who died because of your orders, several people who were seriously injured because of your influence. Just because you order someone else to plant a bomb doesn’t mean you aren’t implicit in it being set off. Just because you incited your cronies into beating up cops doesn’t mean you aren’t just as culpable. The entirety of the Weather Underground and your involvement in it has been very thoroughly documented. No matter how many lies you tell now, no matter how much you try to disfigure history, there are those of us who still know who you are and know exactly what you did. And we sure as hell won’t forget it.

According to Ahmad Yousuf, a political advisor to the leader of the terrorist Islamic group Hamas, Barack Obama’s campaign held secret meetings with Hamas during the Presidential race. But Obama’s representatives made sure to let Hamas know to keep quiet about these meetings, for fear that the American people might not like this so much and it might harm his electoral prospects.
Hmm, ya think?!

I’ve just found a wonderful complete scan of the first issue of Osawatomie, the Weather Underground’s newsletter. In it they lay out their plan to “revolutionize” our country, “working from the inside”, encouraging “organizers” who will work in “communities” and use “audacity” to bring about “socialism” in America. It’s a really interesting look at what the Weather Underground stood for, the messages behind the bombings. Check it out, it’s really enlightening, fascinating, and kind of depressing.

Media Bias? I’ve Got Your Media Bias Right Here

This is absurd. Peter Wallsten, a reporter from the LA Times, apparently is in possession of a video from an event Barack Obama attended in 2003. At this event, Barack Obama delivered a toast. This video could be quite important and, in my opinion, voters deserve to see it. Why?
Because this 2003 event was hosted in honor of Rashid Khalidi, a critic of Israel, advocate for Palestinian rights, and quite frankly, a hate-speech-spewing Jew-basher. Coincidentally, he is also a best friend of Bill Ayers.
There’s been a lot of speculation and talk, claiming that Barack Obama is very familiar with Rashid Khalidi, that they went to events together all the time, that they were close friends, and that they often shared long family dinners where they discussed Palestinian rights. Of course, Barack Obama denies this, because Rashid Khalidi doesn’t exactly have the nicest track record.

Well, apparently this video would show just exactly how whitewashed this relationship is. According to Wallsten, this video features a toast delivered by Barack Obama, where he discusses his many talks with the Khalidis. Obama said, these talks had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases… It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.”
Additional portions of the dinner are also on the video tape, showing Obama participating in the many discussions at the event about Jews, Israel, and the problem they present to Islam. According to Wallsten, “During the dinner a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, ‘then you will never see a day of peace.’ One speaker likened ‘Zionist settlers on the West Bank’ to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been ‘blinded by ideology.’”

This has been a side of Barack Obama that many people have speculated about, and many former colleagues from Chicago have expounded upon. Hell, even Rashid Khalidi himself has talked very openly about the relationship he and Barack Obama shared.
Yet the media’s still choosing to ignore this issue, instead decided to believe Obama 100%, despite the vast array of evidence stacked up against him.

THIS is the media bias everyone’s been talking about, right there. Do you honestly think that if any reporter had such damning evidence about John McCain or Sarah Palin, do you honestly think they’d refuse to release it? If it was John McCain attending a dinner in honor of someone who supported and promoted hate crimes, where the entire event devolved into a relentless bashing of a minority, and then McCain proceeded to deliver a toast in honor of such a man, that it wouldn’t be all over the news every minute of every day until the election? Seriously, we heard all about the completely made up claims about Sarah Palin supposedly attempting to ban books, yet stuff like this is ignored? The claim against Sarah Palin was completely false, yet here we have absolute evidence that shows Barack Obama openly bashing Jews and supporting hate speech, and that’s what ends up getting buried?

Seriously, if we don’t wake up, we’re going to end up going to hell in a hand basket. If we don’t wake up and start demanding responsible journalism from our nation’s media, we will have invited our own destruction. When we have such little regard for the truth that we will allow such behavior to continue, we are indeed hopeless.

(The best summary of this issue is from Gateway Pundit. Just so you’re aware, they are a conservative blog. As you know, I try to find as moderate a source as possible, but in this case, the reason I’m linking to them is because the blogger actually had direct contact with Peter Wallsten and detailed the conversation they had about the tape. It’s honestly the best and most direct synopsis of the situation. So please, check it out.)

The mainstream media finally caught on to the fact that Obama reviewed one of William Ayers’ books back in 1997. It’s been all over the news today and everyone’s treating it like this is some grand new revelation. I wish I could remember where I read it, but I swear, I read about this weeks ago and thought it was common knowledge by now. Wow, if only I’d thought to actually save that and post it here, I would have had the scoop on the MSM!
Not like that doesn’t happen on the Internet every day, though… cause we all know how good the mainstream media is about breaking news these days. (*cough*John Edwards*cough*)

My good friend Robert has posted a brilliant summary of the main ties between Barack Obama and William Ayers – that is, at least, the ties that we know about. Check it out on his blog, POW in the People’s Republic of California. It’s well worth a read, even for those of us well aware of the Ayers situation. Cause hey, it’s always great to get a refresher on the facts so you’ll be ready to dish them out should the topic come up in conversation, right? :)

Just like Robert says on his blog, I’d like to end this post with a similar thought. Obama likes to toss aside his connections with Ayers as “just some guy who lives in my neighborhood.” Cause yeah, we all have to deal with that pesky neighbor who happened to have bombed the pentagon, several government buildings, and a judge’s house back in the day, and still goes on and on about how proud he was of what he did and that he wishes he could have done more. Yeah, I can certainly relate to that, can’t you?
