What happens when you make brash generalizations? You make yourself look like a fool. What happens when you make generalized assumptions about an entire group of people? You betray your own prejudices.

That’s what I believe has happened – among other things – with the vilification of generalized, anonymous, faceless A.I.G. “Executives”. Certain members of Congress, along with the Attorneys General of various states, would have us believe that every executive who ever worked at A.I.G. is directly responsible for all the credit default swaps that landed them and the American economy in such turmoil. Furthermore, not only is it every executive’s fault – regardless of whether they were even in the same departments that handled those credit default swaps or not – all of those executives are also totally heartless, greedy, disgusting bastards who deserve to die for so blatantly disrespecting and victimizing the tax-payers by doing something so wrong, so dastardly, so disgusting as… receiving payment for their hard work, as dictated by contracts signed by those in charge, both at A.I.G. and in the Federal government. If we believe what we’re being told by the likes of Barney Frank, *every* executive is a criminal who deserves to be “named and shamed”, who deserves no sympathy for the death threats they and their families are being subjected to, and who ultimately deserves the first ever retroactive, personally targeted, over-the-top, 90% taxation that was just enacted by Congress, despite the fact such taxation legislation so blatantly violates the Constitution (another contract that no one seems to hold must esteem for these days.)

This is another rash generalization. Not only does it make those who make such generalizations look like fools, and not only does it betray their prejudices, but good people who have done absolutely nothing wrong are being hurt in the process.
Oh, and we, the American people, are also being hopelessly distracted from much more important and pressing issues.

This point is beautifully illustrated by none other than one of those awful executives from A.I.G, Mr. Jake DeSantis. He’s taking an awful risk revealing his name, but I believe that what he has to say is important. After all, didn’t our parents teach us to walk a mile in another man’s shoes before we criticize them? And no, not just so that when we do criticize them we’re a mile away and we have their shoes. No, no, the point is, we need to look at both sides before grabbing our pitchforks and running people out of town who may be completely and utterly innocent. Mob rule isn’t the answer here; reason is.
So for the sake of reason, I beg you to take a look at the letter of resignation which Mr. Jake DeSantis sent to Edward M. Liddy, the Chief Executive of A.I.G. It explains a few things from the point of view of the executives that we’re all being riled up to hate.

Before any of us say another word about these executives, I wish we’d all calm down for a minute and think about a few things. First, contracts should be sacred and the government has no right to interfere with them, especially with regard to contracts that they themselves agreed to.

Secondly, before we let mob rule trump our reason, perhaps we should ask ourselves, who is it that’s trying to get us to behave like a bunch of vicious, thoughtless, violent rioters in the first place? Perhaps then we might have a better idea about what really went on here, and who’s really to blame. Not some faceless, nameless, villain of an executive, but some politicians who didn’t even bother to read the biggest, most expensive bill in the history of our country before they voted for it. They’re the ones who signed a contract before reading the fine print (hell, they didn’t even let us read it!) If that happened to us, the little people, we’d be the ones to blame. We’d be the ones with our credit ruined and our possessions being taken away. Yet Congress is trying to shift the blame and attention onto others, hoping they’ll get away with something tremendously stupid – which, by the way, we’re currently paying the price for. Congress entered into this contract, a contract which simply stated that executives – like any other employee of a company – should be compensated for their work. Whether the Congressmen and Senators now feel that compensation was too high, it’s too bad, so sad. It’s their fault for not reading the fine print. So hold them responsible, not the people who simply got paid for doing their job. If that contract can’t stand, if the government can interfere in that contract, then who’s to say they can’t interfere in one of yours? Who’s to say you won’t be the next villain to distract the people of America from yet another of Congress’ sins? Walk a mile in the shoes of those executives before being so quick to judgment, then maybe you’ll understand why this entire situation is so entirely wrong.

I’m just now watching Obama’s appearance on last night’s Tonight Show – thank you, Tivo! – and I just had to pause it. I couldn’t go any further without commenting on a few things, so this won’t be a full analysis, this is just me having to sound off now before I forget my initial reaction.

First off, here’s a direct quote I just transcribed from Obama. I’ll try to get an exact video clip of this line later on.

“”No, no, no, but, no, th-th-th-th… This is the point that I made, I think two days ago, when somebody asked, ‘Well, do you have confidence in Tim Geithner?’ I said, ‘Look, I’m the President. So ih-eh-uh, ultimately, all of this stuff is my responsibility. If I’m not, uh, giving him the tools that he needs, uh, to make sure that we’re moving this forward, then people need to look at me.”
- Barack Obama, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 03-19-09, roughly 35-40 minutes into the broadcast.

Um, Mr. President, if it’s your responsibility to get Tim Geithner all the tools he needs to solve what you and your administration repeatedly refer to as the greatest financial and economic disaster to strike this country since the Great Depression, then why is it that you have time to go on a late night chat show, and yet you haven’t had enough time to fill the remaining 17 out of 18 presidential appointments within the Treasury Department? Tim Geithner is the only one you’ve appointed out of those 18 appointments, meaning Tim Geithner is operating without a full compliment of appointees on his staff, to assist him with this massive crisis.
Wouldn’t you say that’s a pretty big error on your part? Wouldn’t you say that’s an instance of you not giving Tim Geithner the “tools that he needs to make sure we’re moving forward”? Don’t you think filling those 17 appointments should be a higher priority than chatting it up with Jay Leno?
Hey, Mr. Obama, you asked us to look at you, you said this was your responsibility. We’re looking at you now.

Secondly, I will say that I was impressed with one question in particular that Jay Leno addressed to Obama. When he asked specifically about his concerns over Congress targeting specific individuals with 90% taxation legislation, did you notice that Obama didn’t even answer the question? He completely deflected and didn’t even come close to addressing Leno’s very legitimate concerns!
But then again, I guess you wouldn’t want to answer that question either, if you were presiding over a Congress that just passed legislation which violated the Constitution not just once, but twice.
Yet again, Mr. Obama, I’m looking at you. This is your responsibility, and you can’t even answer a drastically important question such as the one Jay Leno presented to you?
I sincerely hope I wasn’t the only one who picked up on that deflection, because that’s a very, very, very important question that we should all be demanding a satisfactory answer to.

Lastly, didn’t you just love how in every single answer, the only solution Obama presented to both the economic crisis AND the big AIG mess, was more regulation and oversight? That’s pretty funny, coming from the golden boy of the same Democratic party who repeatedly rejected Republican attempts at providing more regulation and oversight before this crisis even erupted, in an effort to put on the brakes before we hit an absolute catastrophe. Wasn’t it the Democrats who said that Fannie and Freddie were just fine, and that Republicans were doing nothing more than being evil “fear-mongers” for suggesting that a major global financial crisis was on the horizon and that we’d better act now through regulation and oversight?
Kinda funny that Obama thinks we should trust those very same Democrats to effectively implement that regulation and oversight now that the very same crisis the Republicans predicted has hit us at full force, that crisis the Democrats said didn’t exist and was nothing more than a Republican fantasy. But not only did the Democrats fail in that regard, but they also failed to put in any regulation and oversight into the massive stimulus bills they passed which led to this big AIG mess that Obama was commenting on.
Hmm, that’s at least two strikes, if not more. How many strikes will we allow the Democrats before we realize, hey, they have absolutely no track record of success and they flat out suck at implementing any kind of effective regulation and oversight, like the kind Obama was touting on Jay Leno?

Alright, now to hit play and finish the rest of it. I swear, I feel like pulling my hair out, this is so frustrating to listen to. So before my brain just fizzles out, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the whole debacle, so please, comment away and let me know what you think!

It can often become overwhelming, listening to all the incessant screams of the pacifist Left, as they rail against every little thing, constantly casting President Bush as a Hitler-type, calling him the worst president ever, and always chiming in at every possible second trying to convince us that every single move made in the war on terror has been an unbelievable mistake. When the opposition displays such a crazed, unending, berserk desire to rip someone to shreds, I can’t help but wonder what has caused such blinding hatred, such ridiculous zealotry, that someone could lose their entire sense of reason, leaving them incapable of rationally evaluating both the bad and the good. When someone is that drastic with their hatred, so over the top with their constant clamoring, I tend to tune them out. Because if someone is completely incapable of finding anything positive at all in such a complex situation, I’m more inclined to believe their mind has been closed by a wealth of preconceived prejudices.

It seems our world has been overwhelmed by such people. So many have been so brainwashed into such behavior that it can become downright impossible to try to look at the war on terror from an unbiased, purely subjective point of view. But when our world loses its objectivity, we’re going to sink into an even bigger pit than we already find ourselves in.
Considering all of this, imagine my surprise when I came across this article from – of all places – a British newspaper. It seems to be striving to regain at least a semblance of objectivity, taking a look at the war on terror and President Bush’s place in it from a more historical perspective, removed from the rabid clamoring of the Left as it has been desperately clawing at power for eight straight years. The article is well worth a read, as it is a single meek voice of reason trying to stand up against a sea of venomous screamers.
Never the less, its words must not be taken as scripture; objectivity must never be cast aside, of course. But still, it’s at the very least a refreshingly different tone from a surprisingly different point of view.

I’ve given this a lot of thought and I’ve finally decided how I will react to President Obama.

1 – I will show President Obama precisely the same amount of loyalty he and the Democratic party were kind enough to show to President Bush. Although I am no fan of Bush, I feel it is only fair that they finally get a taste of their own medicine, so to speak.

2- Unlike the Democrats, I will not hold Obama responsible for things beyond his control, and I will not fault him for failings which have absolutely nothing to do with the responsibilities of the president.

3 – I will not behave as though history immediately pauses and restarts during the transition from one administration to the other. In other words, I will not fault him for the residual effects of previous presidents’ policies, so long as he does not involve himself in making such residual effects worse.

4 – I will not engage in childish behavior, such as mindlessly and repetitively dressing him up as Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, or any other infamous leader, purely for the sake of manipulating the masses.

5 – I will not question his intelligence simply because he may have an accent that I don’t particularly like. However, I reserve the right to comment in the event that he continues to switch at will between his normal speaking voice and his “Black Southern Preacher” voice. Cause that’s just plain silly.

6 – I will – as I always have – maintain respect for the office of the presidency. I will respect the office itself. I do not, however, have to respect the man who occupies it.

7 – These rules will be in place until President Obama truly and completely earns my respect, trust, and loyalty. Such respect should not be freely granted without first being earned. I’m not sure how he could possibly do that, but if by some miracle he actually does, only then will I regard him as my President.

I’m sure I might have a few more to add to this as I continue to consider how best to proceed. I’ll also need to come up with a new headline for this blog, since this site is no longer about making a decision about who to vote for. If you have any ideas, please feel free to share them! Good luck, everybody! The next four years probably won’t be a lot of fun, but please, we absolutely must maintain our honor, maturity, integrity, and dignity. One of my worst fears is that those of us who didn’t vote for Obama will sink to the same lows previously displayed by some Democrats during the Bush years. I don’t want us to turn into them, I don’t want us – independents, republicans, PUMAs, whatever – to be just as childish as they were. Please, as we continue to fight for what we believe in, we need to make sure we maintain our maturity and dignity as well. We cannot allow ourselves to indulge in moral equivalencies as they did. Let’s rise above it and show them what we’re made of.

Considering everything that was on Obama’s side and everything that was against John McCain, it’s so important that we realize how very close this election was. Consider the following facts:

- Obama had $650 million dollars at his disposal. McCain stuck to public financing, which limited him to $84 million. Obama outspent McCain 5:1.

– The Mainstream Media. On the three network evening newscasts, 65% positive for Obama/Biden while coverage of McCain/Palin was 36%. Between the end of the primaries and the end of October, network news broadcast 84 stories criticizing McCain ads, but only 32% had a negative tone towards Obama. Obama appeared on over 50 magazine covers. As I showed you, he was granted 13 Time Magazine covers, compared to McCain’s 4.

- After the primary, Obama made a mad dash for the center. Once he was the Democratic nominee, he flip-flopped his way to the center. He was a radical leftist in moderate clothing, a la the Emperor and his new clothes.

After all of that, after all the outspending, media hype, and flip-flopping, that only just gave him the victory. Yes, he won by a fair margin with the electoral college, but if you look at the vote-for-vote count, it was very, very close. Obama won by pretty much the exact same margin that Bush won by in 2004. After all of that, it only bought Obama just over 62 million votes. He had to outspend McCain 5:1, he had the media in his back pocket, he flip-flopped his way to the center, and yet even then, he couldn’t win by a landslide. He did not win as the leftist he’s been throughout his career. He did not win as the Senate’s most liberal senator. He had to win by putting on a centrist costume and outspending the Republicans.

The Democrats are calling this a revolution. I hardly think so. We Americans are the center, we are not Nancy Pelosi, we are not Harry Reid. But in the same vein, we are also not Jerry Fallwell. We are not extremists! When considering everything it took to give Obama this victory, this does not change who we are and where the majority of us sit on the political landscape.
Please do not let the Democrats sway you, do not believe them when they try to convince you that moderate and conservative politics are over and done with. We are not dead, we were simply out spent, out maneuvered, and quite frankly, overwhelmed by the sheer size, scope, and wallet of Obama’s campaign.
In short, we can no longer afford to be the silent majority. We must get organized, we must prepare ourselves, we must change the way in which we approach the political landscape. But above all else, we must not be convinced to give up our principles. They may have overwhelmed us financially, but that does not mean we give up what we believe in. That does not mean we throw in the towel and become radical leftist socialists ourselves. It just means we’re going to have to speak up, stand up for what we believe in, and fight tooth and nail for the principles we believe in and the country that we love.

This nation has just elected another Jimmy Carter. But remember, it took Jimmy Carter to bring us Ronald Reagan.
Hold fast, everybody. It’s going to be a bumpy four years, but we can hold firm, we can stay strong, and we can stand up for what we believe in. It’s time to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and keep on fighting.

It looks like I’ll be around for another four years, or however long it takes for the Berg lawsuit to finally prove Obama’s ineligibility, Obama’s impeached, or he’s run out of town by the Peggys of the country who will be so distraught when they find out Obama can’t wave a magic wand and magically fill up her gas tank and pay her mortgage. Let’s all cross our fingers that it’s the former, rather than the latter.

That said, I’ve been putting off writing this post. My mind has been a jumble of disappointment, heartache, and sheer astonishment. I apologize that this post will probably be disjointed, but I’m just going to let my thoughts spill out as they come to me.

I only caught a little bit of Obama’s victory speech, so I can’t really offer a reaction to the whole thing. But was the segment where he declared “Yes, we can” as the new national statement, with the crowd chanting it back at him, did anybody else think that was kinda creepy?

Unlike what the Democrats were hoping, Obama did not receive a mandate. This was a remarkably close race everywhere, which means he does not enjoy such a vast majority that he’ll be able to get away with radical left-of-the-left policies.

I am so incredibly, incredibly disappointed that the Democrats’ fraudulent primary, unimaginable amounts of money, and complete media manipulation has been vindicated. I believe this has set us so far back with regard to campaign reform that it’s absolutely sickening. I keep thinking about all the good that could have been done in this country with the three quarters of a billion dollars at Obama’s disposal during the campaign, it just makes my heart sink.

I’m just in absolute shock that we have a President Hussein.

Since we’ve just elected another Jimmy Carter, I’m rather interested to see if this will lead to another revolution within the Republican party two to four years from now. I really miss Reagan, so I’d be completely happy with a true Reagan successor bringing true honor, respect, and leadership back to the Republican party. I may not be a Republican, but I do believe they have a positive impact on this country and that their influence is needed to balance out the influence of the Democrats.

I am so, so, so, so relieved that enough Republican senators held on to their seats so that we can avoid a supermajority in the Senate. The House is pretty remarkably uneven, but at least the Senate isn’t beyond filibuster. Checks and balances are absolutely integral to our survival, so I am relieved that we have at least managed to retain a portion of that in our government.

President Hussein. Seriously.

I thought McCain’s concession speech was very respectable, eloquent, civilized, and well delivered. Above all else, no one can possibly claim that McCain ever sacrificed his dignity throughout this election. He has remained dignified, classy, and above all else, he was most certainly post-racial, which I believe is to be commended.

Okay, time for something horribly catty, but I just can’t help myself. What the hell was up with Michelle Obama’s dress!?! That was the most unflattering thing I think I have ever seen. It made her hips and behind look gigantic, the way it split up the color made her appear chopped off in unflattering ways, and that red. Holy crap, that splotch of red. Sorry, but it just looked like a blood splatter. She may be our next first lady, but Jackie Kennedy she most certainly is not. I really hope she can find herself a better stylist.

We better prepare ourselves for four gaffe-tastic years with Joe Biden as the VP, and the inevitable plethora of teleprompter-free moments with Obama. In the gaffe department, the two of them are going to make Dan Quayle look like an intellectual.

I’m still really curious to know how much of an influence ACORN and voter fraud in general had on this election.

Please, PUMA Democrats, do not give up on your fight now! Your party needs reform now more than ever. Please don’t give up, don’t let them to continue to walk all over you now that they have ultimate power, now that their behavior has been vindicated. Don’t give up, don’t give in!

I’m cheering for Philip J. Berg even harder now.

I cannot believe that we have elected a President who flat out would not qualify for an upper level security clearance. That boggles my mind.

Damn, my liberal brother is going to be insufferable during Thanksgiving.

My biggest hope is that we will somehow find a way to prevent the Democrats from instituting socialized medicine. If we cannot avoid this, I honestly have no clue what options I will have left. Where could I go on this Earth to avoid socialized medicine?

In other news, my desktop died today. Man, it was just a bad day all the way around.

Almost more than anything else, I feel so cheated that I cannot be thoroughly thrilled over the fact that we just elected the first African American President of the United States. I am so disappointed that I can’t be happy about this. Ever since I left that segregated first grade classroom all those years ago, I have been looking forward to the day when we could get beyond that bigotry and look up to a black President. But I am literally so disheartened that of all the African American presidents we could have had, we got him. Of all the brilliant, qualified, dignified, exceptional African Americans we could have had, we got Obama. We got a man with no experience, no credentials, no solid record, a plethora of questionable associates, and goodness knows what else.
And worst of all, if he fails spectacularly, if his leadership leaves us more vulnerable, more unstable, and more bitter, he will have made the climb to the Presidency that much harder for an African American leader who is qualified, who is exceptional, who is experienced, who is a good and proven leader. I really wish I could be happy about this historic day, but I can’t, because of who this leader is.

Lastly, President Obama is not my President. He will not be, unless by some miracle, he really can turn this country around without digging us deeper into the hell hole of socialism. Barring that, Barack Hussein Obama will never be my president. And that makes me so very sad indeed.

Here we are. November 4th. V-Day. It’s time to vote people. I’m working on a final reminder and a final summation, but as I continue working on that, I thought I would share another reminder regarding the flip-flops and lies of Barack Obama. I’ve been talking to a close friend of mine over the past couple weeks. He’s one of the few friends of mine that I trusted in telling them about this website, I knew they would not attack me so personally as many of my friends and family have. When I told this particular friend about this site, his reaction was, “Fabulous! I don’t have the time to do the research myself, you tell me what you found!” That statement launched a big discussion that only just pretty much ended tonight. His final statement said, essentially, that he was concerned about two things – who amongst the two candidates could he trust to be the most honest, and who was the most concerned about justice and equality for everyone, even those outside our nation.
I’ve been thinking about those two questions all night, so when I came across this video, I knew I just had to post it as a reminder to all of us, whether you know who you’re voting for or are still undecided. Here are the outright lies uttered from the mouth of Barack Obama, just during this long, drawn out campaign process. Enjoy.

In this very tough, critical, and potentially dangerous time, don’t we want someone we have known, who we can trust? Do we want someone who has been allowed to massage his ridiculously small and calculated record with rhetoric, or do we want someone whose record is firm, concrete, and completely apparent? Even if we do not always agree with John McCain, we understand who he is, what he stands for. He can’t get around the facts, the history of his record, and – at least as far as I know – he hasn’t tried. John McCain is John McCain. Period. Can we say that about the political shape-shifter Obama, who will blow wherever the political wind takes him? A man who has said outright, in his own book, that he serves as a blank screen, upon which we project our own ideals, so that he may reflect them back at us to win our trust? I’ll say again, believing in a man like that is believing that a mirror will hold your reflection even after you have left the room. Does he believe what he reflects back at you? Does he believe the words that come out of his mouth, intended to appease you? We don’t know, we can’t know, because we don’t know who he is. Can we really trust such a man with the most powerful position in the world? Can we really afford to get to know him when he holds power over us? Do we even want to?

I will be hoping and, yes, even praying, that Barack Obama will not reach that power he so desires. I still have faith in the American people, that they will rely on that brilliant American common sense that has so beautifully guided us for so long, which we seem to have neglected in recent years. We need that common sense now more than ever. Those old school attitudes of trust, reliability, judging a man’s character by the company he keeps, by the steadfastness of his resolve, his willingness to work hard, and his commitment to character and integrity above all else.
Please, do your duty today and cast an educated vote. It is not only your right, it is your duty, but most importantly, it is your privilege and your honor to have a say in the leadership of our beloved nation. Take joy in that privilege! For how lucky are we that we get to participate in the history of this country.

In talking to friends and family members, I’ve been shocked to hear that question from educated, well-intentioned, kind people. They honestly don’t know what’s so bad about socialism. Let me just say, that floors me. It honestly floors me. Whenever those five words escape their lips, I’m literally so shocked it takes me a minute to pick my jaw back up off the floor, crank my brain back up, and start explaining why it’s just so terrible. But there’s just so much to convey, just so much evidence against it, that it’s almost like you don’t know where to start. I want to just scream, don’t you even look at history?! Don’t you see the hundreds of thousands of Americans who came before you who gave their lives to stop the spread of socialism and communism, because they knew that it had never worked? Don’t you see that of all the displaced peoples in this world, the vast majority of them are running away from socialism, not running toward it? Don’t you see that throughout history, every single time socialism has ever been implemented, it turns into absolute tyranny? What makes us so arrogant, so pompous, so self-righteous, that we think we can contradict all of history that has come before us? Isn’t that old saying always ‘pride cometh before the fall’? That’s never more true than when a nation begins to accept socialism despite all the evidence to the contrary that history has laid before us. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it; accepting socialism is nothing short of pride convincing us to ignore the lessons of history.
But that said, John McCain gave an interview today where he explained it in his own words. I thought I’d share them with you, as evidence that at least someone out there in Washington understands this. Again, I’m not pro-McCain, I don’t agree with him on a lot of things. But on this, I agree with him 100%.

HOST: Senator McCain, I hear people actually write me, say to me — I have a sister who said to me, “You know what, what’s the big deal with socialism. So what. He’s socialist. Why is that bad.” Could you please explain why socialism is bad?

SENATOR McCAIN: It doesn’t work, number one. It’s been tried many times. Second of all, redistributing the wealth creates disincentives to entrepreneurship, capitalism, small business, free enterprise. If people know that their hard earned — the fruits of their hard earned labor are going to be taken from them and given to others, then they are obviously going to have disincentives to work. The fundamentals of the free enterprise system is that less government is the best government. Now, there are times for government, in emergencies, in wars and, you know, many other areas where we can interpret it, but the fact is that government should let free enterprise, small business and capitalism function and, of course, it has to be — has to have regulation. Of course there has to be transparency. Of course Teddy Roosevelt was right where he said unbridled capitalism leads to corruption. But let’s not take people’s hard earned money that they worked to save and pass on to their children or build their businesses, let’s not take it away from them and give it to others. That’s — socialism is antithetical to progress and job creation and wealth, progress for all of society.

Please, any of you out there who think that maybe socialism just might work, get your head out of your textbooks and look at the real world. Look at the unfettered harsh reality of history, look at the people socialism has so mercilessly harmed. Look at the good that the United States has done for this world in protecting those who have been victimized by socialism and communism. Look at the lives it has ended, the dignity it has destroyed, the villains it has produced. Then ask yourself, do you really trust anyone enough to give them that degree of power over you? Should anyone be subjugated in such a fashion? Is anyone in this imperfect world righteous enough for such power as is granted under the socialist system?
Are you really that pleased with the behavior and responsibility of your government that you would ever wish to give it any additional power over you, your life, and your family?

This nation was founded as a beacon of hope for the rest of the world, a beacon of freedom, equality, and liberty. We hear those words so often that it is so easy to forget what they really mean. It’s not freedom from offense or freedom from responsibility! It’s freedom to make your own choices about your own life and the life of your family. It’s the equality for all to seek after life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Yes, we haven’t always been perfect at the whole equality thing, but we’re improving, we’re striving, we have good intentions! Don’t sacrifice those for tyranny.
But most importantly of all, we have the liberty to guide our own lives. We have the liberty to succeed by our own hard work and determination. But just as importantly, we have the liberty to fail, for without failure there will never be success. We have the freedom and the liberty to fail so spectacularly that we then pick ourselves up, dust off our hands and knees, and get back up again to try for the real American dream. The American dream does not guarantee success for all, it only guarantees the opportunity to strive for it. Not all of us are going to make it, but isn’t it a beautiful feeling to know that all of us could if we wanted to? It is up to us, the people, as individuals, to determine who makes it. It’s up to our own hard work, grit, and determination! Not the government, not our representatives. Whenever they stand in our way, they are at fault, not us. They must be chastised, not us. We’re not the problem, they are. So why would we give them any more power to restrict our liberties, our equality, or our freedoms?

Yes, socialism may offer some aspects of equality, but again, get your head out of a textbook and look at the reality of history! The only equality it offers is to equally wallow in misery. According to socialism, we will only be truly equal when we are all equally poor, downtrodden, miserable, and at the hand of a merciless tyrant. That is not freedom, that is not liberty, and we must not accept it in this country. We are one of the last hold outs of true freedom on earth. So many nations across this planet have accepted just a pinch of socialism here, a pinch of socialism there, until they are so swallowed up in it they have nowhere else to go. We have the opportunity right here, right now, to say no more. We have been walking down that path long enough, but so very soon we may get to the point where we no longer have a choice. We may get to the point where there are no more forks in the road, but rather we’re stuck on a one-way thoroughfare to socialism. Please, don’t get to that point, don’t let our nation go so far down that road that we can’t turn back. We need to scale back our government now more than ever, because it’s their fault that so many people are out of their homes, it’s their fault that our economy is in such turmoil, it’s their fault that our stock market is in shambles. It’s their fault, not ours.
So please, do not give them any more power over you. Do not invite that into your home, your country. Do not give up your opportunity to fail, because if you do, you will no longer have an opportunity to succeed.

This is just about the scariest thing I’ve ever heard come out of Obama’s mouth, “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded [as the military].”
Does that rub anyone else the wrong way? If it doesn’t, perhaps some context about the setting in which he said that would help to illuminate exactly why such an idea is so frightening. He has spoken about this civilian national security force at events for a non-profit group he helped create, which his wife now runs: Public Allies. It’s a training program for young Americans, in which they are extolled to shun “money culture”, where – in Obama’s own words – “Individual salvation depends on collective salvation.” It gets worse. According to individuals who have gone through training from Public Allies, they’re taught that America is nothing but a hotbed of racism, oppression, sexism, homophobia, and greedy, money-grubbing white supremacists.
That’s Obama’s model for his proposed Civilian National Security Force.

The Investor’s Business Daily has a brilliant article about this issue, both Obama’s statements during the campaign, as well as the truth about Public Allies. In my opinion, it’s an absolute must read for every single voter. The parallels in history are just too serious, too concerning, and too frightening to ignore.

Michelle’s Boot Camp for Radicals

Election ‘08: Democrats’ reintroduction of militant Michelle Obama in Denver was supposed to show her softer side. But it only highlighted a radical part of her resume: Public Allies.

Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, “Universal Voluntary Public Service.”

Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they’ll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of “social change.”

The pitch Public Allies makes on its Web site doesn’t seem all that radical. It promises to place young adults (18-30) in paid one-year “community leadership” positions with nonprofit or government agencies. They’ll also be required to attend weekly training workshops and three retreats.

In exchange, they’ll get a monthly stipend of up to $1,800, plus paid health and child care. They also get a post-service education award of $4,725 that can be used to pay off past student loans or fund future education.

But its real mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about “social change” through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation — the tactics used by the father of community organizing, Saul “The Red” Alinsky.

“Our alumni are more than twice as likely as 18-34 year olds to . . . engage in protest activities,” Public Allies boasts in a document found with its tax filings. It has already deployed an army of 2,200 community organizers like Obama to agitate for “justice” and “equality” in his hometown of Chicago and other U.S. cities, including Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington. “I get to practice being an activist,” and get paid for it, gushed Cincinnati recruit Amy Vincent.

Public Allies promotes “diversity and inclusion,” a program paper says. More than 70% of its recruits are “people of color.” When they’re not protesting, they’re staffing AIDS clinics, handing out condoms, bailing criminals out of jail and helping illegal aliens and the homeless obtain food stamps and other welfare.

Public Allies brags that more than 80% of graduates have continued working in nonprofit or government jobs. It’s training the “next generation of nonprofit leaders” — future “social entrepreneurs.”

The Obamas discourage work in the private sector. “Don’t go into corporate America,” Michelle has exhorted youth. “Work for the community. Be social workers.” Shun the “money culture,” Barack added. “Individual salvation depends on collective salvation.”

“If you commit to serving your community,” he pledged in his Denver acceptance speech, “we will make sure you can afford a college education.” So, go through government to go to college, and then go back into government.

Many of today’s youth find the pitch attractive. “I may spend the rest of my life trying to create social movement,” said Brian Coovert of the Cincinnati chapter. “There is always going to be work to do. Until we have a perfect country, I’ll have a job.”

Not all the recruits appreciate the PC indoctrination. “It was too touchy-feely,” said Nelly Nieblas, 29, of the 2005 Los Angeles class. “It’s a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias.”

One of those -isms is “heterosexism,” which a Public Allies training seminar in Chicago describes as a negative byproduct of “capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege.”

The government now funds about half of Public Allies’ expenses through Clinton’s AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the military, he said.

The gall of it: The Obamas want to create a boot camp for radicals who hate the military — and stick American taxpayers with the bill.

Obviously, I was not around during World War II. I was born in the lavish comfort of the 1980s. But both of my Grandmothers are still alive today. Their husbands, both of my Grandfathers, served in the military during the war. There are not enough words to describe my fear that in my Grandmothers’ own lifetime, we could see a return to the same sort of radical control of youth at the hand of any political leader. But worst of all, it would be a return in our own country, the country my Grandfathers fought to defend from such horrific extremism and maniacal control. Here, in one of the most prosperous nations on Earth. Not only that, but we are easily the most generous nation on the planet, as we give more humanitarian aid – both federally and privately – than any other nation. Sure, we aren’t perfect, sure we have our problems. But our people are better than this! All Americans don’t deserve to be written off as racist, sexist, homophobic, white supremacists! We are one of the most gracious, most tolerant, most accepting people on the face of this Earth. How could a presidential candidate get away with saying otherwise? Not only does it baffle me, but it greatly disturbs me. It doesn’t take a PhD in history to recognize the parallels between what we’re seeing now and what has come before. But it kills me that more people simply aren’t aware of it.
It was never truer than it it is today, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Here we are facing an election with a candidate whose taxes are reminiscent of Herbert Hoover, whose economic policies are almost word-for-word like those of Jimmy Carter, and now this? A civilian national security force, based upon a radical training camp for youth? Seriously? For the sake of my Grandfathers, I sincerely hope I am not alone in refusing to stay quiet. I will not watch this happen to our own country.
Think I’m going overboard? Then investigate it for yourself. Don’t let this discussion end here. If you think I’ve gone too far, then do your own research and challenge me. Don’t just turn away, because what if I’m right?
