I saw this on my new favorite web-haunt, ProbablyBadNews.com, and I just had to share! It’s yet another epic fail courtesy of NBC News, because – as they say at PBN – journalism isn’t dying fast enough. At least, mainstream journalism anyway.
Meh, no worries, NBC, it’s not like our housing markets are important or anything! Psshaw, like, my inner valley girl is sooo bored with it already, fer shure!
In fact, I’ve been so impressed with NBC News lately, especially after seeing this report about those awful town hall attendees, that I decided to come up with my own slogan idea for NBC News!! I’m, like, so totally excited to share it with you!
How long do you think it’ll be before I get an excited phone call from the head of NBC News, telling me how much they totally love my new slogan?
Yeah, I’m not holding my breath…
I’m up way past my bedtime, but this was just too funny, I couldn’t not share it! So I’m delaying sleepy-time, just so you can have a giggle too. Enjoy!
I want to marry this man and have his cute little cartoony babies!
That cartoon is by the brilliant Michael Ramirez, the editorial cartoonist from Investor’s Business Daily. I’ve been a huge fan of his for a while, but now, I just absolutely love him! I’ve never seen anyone summarize this harsh truth about the uninsured as brilliantly as he has!
A post is forthcoming on this very issue, following a bizarre encounter I had with a nurse at a recent trip to the doctor’s office. But I just couldn’t wait to post this as soon as I saw it. Please, forward this comic to everyone you know. More people deserve to know the truth about just how many people are uninsured in this country, but most importantly, just how many of those individuals are uninsured by choice.
If you’d like even more information about this issue, check out this previous blog entry, where I covered this exact topic.
Seriously, Mr. Ramirez, fantastic job!
I was just listening to a speech by Daniel Hannan, who happened to share a great little nugget of wisdom from history: a story of Winston Churchill & Clement Attlee, sharing a moment in the loo.
Let me tell you a little story that seems apt to our present discontents. The year is 1945. Clement Attlee is Prime Minister, and one day he is relieving himself in the Gents at the House of Commons. The door swings open and it’s the leader of the opposition, Sir Winston Churchill. Churchill spies the Prime Minister at the urinal and he strides purposefully to the farthest end.
”Feeling a bit standoffish today are we, Winston?” asks Attlee.
”No,” replies Churchill, majestically unbuttoning his fly. “But whenever you see anything big, Clement, you nationalize it.”
Perhaps those sentiments are the reason why Obama didn’t want to stare into the eyes of the Winston Churchill bust, which he so rudely returned to the British people not too long ago?
Still, it’s remarkable just how apt Winston’s wisdom, given our current global predicament. If only Winston were around today, to persuade yet another world leader with a little potty wisdom.
Who knew the writers at the Wall Street Journal watched South Park?!
Well, apparently they do! And one such writer just produced a hilarious new article examining President Obama’s many “plans” for this nation through South-Park-colored glasses. It’s definitely worth a read, cause hey, not only is it accurate but it’s surprisingly funny. Click here to check it out.
You have to see this to believe it. It’s that bad.
As if that isn’t bad enough, check out the plaque she presented to the school.
This is one of the saddest, most pathetic things I’ve witnessed come out of Congress in a long time – and that’s saying something. She’s seriously, seriously, a part of the US House of Representatives? Seriously!? Her vote in that respected body actually has a sway over each and every one of our lives?
And yet she can’t even manage to form a proper sentence? She can’t even congratulate someone without pulling made up words out of her butt? What in the hell is she doing in that esteemed chamber?!
What the hell is this country coming to? Not only that so many people come out of our schools this illiterate, but that they somehow manage to become representatives in Congress?! Is this seriously what the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Medgar Evers and Martin Luther King, Jr fought so hard – and died – for? Are representatives like her really going to bring us closer together racially? Is she really the best example of African American success this nation could produce?
Is she really the type of person we should be electing as a representative of ourselves and our communities? I sure as hell hope not, because that’s just pathetic. If we can’t expect more than this from our representatives, if we can’t even expect them to have a basic, elemental grasp on the English language, how could we possibly expect anything from our system of government?
You know, this might be funny, if it weren’t for the fact that she’s voting on vitally important legislation that affects the future of our nation. That kind of takes all the fun out of it, doesn’t it?
Hehe, although, it is kind of funny that she’s part of the Democratic party, which has been so thoroughly savaging President Bush for the past 8 years for mispronouncing “nuclear” (in the exact same manner that President Kennedy did, by the way.) That is at least worth a chuckle.
Congratulations, Ms. Brown, for making a complete and utter fool out of yourself.
As frustrating as the Obama administration is likely to be for the next four years, at least Joe Biden’s around to provide a little comic relief. Check out his latest gaffetastic adventure! It was pretty spectacular, even for him (which is really saying something.)
MAN, BIDEN IS A GAFFE WITH LEGS: during his meeting with Spain’s primer minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in Chile yesterday, Biden thanked Zapatero for his effort… in Iraq (link in Spanish, haven’t found this detail in any English-language media).
As everybody knows, the first decision Zapatero made after his unexpected win in 2004, right after the Madrid train terrorist attacks, was to abruptly and unilaterally pull out from Iraq. So either Biden made a gaffe, or he was thanking Zapatero for angering Bush…
So either our Vice President is an absolute imbecile who has no freaking clue who our allies are in Iraq, or yeah, he was thanking the Prime Minister for giving Bush (and the people of Iraq, by the way) the proverbial finger. No matter which way you look at it, this just doesn’t look good for the VP, does it?
But at least it makes us giggle… *sigh*
For a more in depth reaction to this rather ridiculous error, check out Hot Air’s post on the subject. I’d delve into the details myself, but eh, they did such a good job at it I’m not sure I could do much better at the moment. It’s been a rough day. Thank goodness Biden’s around to lighten the mood while digging us deeper into a foreign policy ditch, right?
